KITCHEN TOOLS

  • Latex gloves (optional but you’re dealing with colour pigments)
  • Measuring teaspoon
  • Stainless medium bowl
  • 3x smaller stainless bowls
  • Bath Bomb Molds (or any mold shape … be creative:-)

DRY INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • .5 cup citric acid
  • .5 cup cornstarch
  • .5 cup Epsom salt

WET INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tbsp infused coconut oil (liquid + dividable into single tbsps)
  • 1 tsp almond oil (optional and beautiful to use)
  • Natural food coloring, you are bathing with it. Or try turmeric for yellow, beetroot powder for red, etc.
  • 5 drops essential oil (peppermint or lavender or ?)
  • *** Mica powder for glitter dusting (optional) ***

STEP 1

  • In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients and stir well.
  • Then divide evenly into 3 smaller bowls.
  • Pour 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil in a small cup and add 2–3 drops of food coloring.
  • Stir well again.
  • *** The final colour will show more once combined with the dry ingredients. Use your best judgement on final colour.

STEP 2

  • Mix 1/3 tsp almond oil and the 5 drops essential oil to liquid coconut oil.
  • Mix this well with fork or spoon.

STEP 3

  • Pour the coconut oil mixture into one of the bowls of dry ingredients.
  • Use your hands (or wear gloves) to mix it all together, breaking apart chunks as you go.
  • Adjust the colour if needed by mixing a sparse amount coconut oil with colouring.
  • Mix well.

STEP 4

  • For the two remaining bowls, repeat process above + you can scent each one differently.
  • Pack the mixtures into mold(s), layering the mixture(s) along the sides of the mold packing each side until overflowing, and squeeze both halves together to close.
  • Freeze for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the bath bomb from the mold by warming the sides of the mold with your hands (this will help melt the coconut oil) until the bomb pops out.
  • Dust with a small pinch of mica for a little shimmer (optional)
  • Finished
